Quick start

1.Install Fingertips on your computer.

2.Press the Fingertips hot key (By default Ctrl+`) to call up this window:

3.Type a Fingertips command and press Enter. That's it.

Example: Add a Next Action to your Tasklist

As soon as you press the Enter key on your keyboard, Fingertips will add a task to your Outlook task list with the Subject 'Call Mary'. The Fingertips window will then close, but it will then open the Outlook Task Window, so that you can edit your task ever further.

If you do not want the Outlook Task Window to be opened, just add a semi-colon to the command. This way, your task will be added in Outlook, with minimal interruption:

Example: Add your favorite websites as Fingertips commands

Want to open your favorite websites much quicker than you’re used to? Fingertips makes it so easy for you.

After setting up each favorite website only once, you can keep opening it with Fingertips all the time — thousands of time per day if you want.

Create a new command for your favorite website

Surf to your favorite website in your favorite browser
Go to the Address Bar at the top (in many browsers, you can use Alt+D)
Select the entire URL in the Address Bar (Ctrl+A)
Copy the URL to the Windows Clipboard (Ctrl+C)
Open Fingertips (Ctrl+`)
Type a new, unique command for opening your favorite website (i.e. “favsite”)
Press Alt+E (for the “New” button)
This opens the Fingertips Option Dialog, with the URL from the clipboard automatically pasted as the Filename/Url
Press Alt+O (for the Ok button)
That’s it.

Use the new command to open your favorite website

From now on you can just open Fingertips (Ctrl+`), type your new command “favsite” and press Enter to surf to your favorite website.

Example 2: Use Fingertips to open Internet Explorer / Windows favorites

If you still use Internet Explorer as your web browser, you can also list your websites as short named Windows favorites and open them directly from Fingertips.

1.In Internet Explorer, surf to a website.
2.Press Ctrl + D to store that location in your Favorites.
3.Use just one short word or acronym (without spaces) as the name of the Favorite.

The next time you start your computer, or when you press Ctrl+R in the Fingertips command window, Fingertips will reload the list of Favorites and will make your new favorite accessible in the command window.

Let's say that you added www.nasa.gov to your Favorites in Internet Explorer with "nasa" as the name of the Favorite.

Now you can press Ctrl+` to open the command window of Fingertips.

Then just type "nasa":

Press Enter and Fingertips will launch your default browser and take you to the NASA website immediately.

No slow mouse-clicks needed anymore.

Breathe a sigh of relief.
